  • How to use Cricut Infusible Ink on a Sweatshirt

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Cricut. The opinions and text are all mine.

Back in the fall, I was invited to an influencer breakfast with Cricut, where I had my first opportunity to craft with Cricut products for the first time, and I fell in love. If you’re a long-time reader, you may remember me regularly crafting a few years ago, but after having my third child, I lost my mojo. Well, the Cricut machines make crafting so easy and fun, I’m happy to get my creativity flowing again. I’m so happy to share my very first Cricut project, a Cricut Infusible Ink everyday mom sweatshirt.

    Materials

For this project, I used my Cricut Maker machine, Cricut Infusible Ink, Cricut Easy Press machine and a sweatshirt.

    Instructions

I’ll be honest; I was a bit intimidated by this project because I heard that the infusible ink was a bit harder to use. I really didn’t want to mess up this sweatshirt that I purchased on Amazon, so I’m happy it came out great and wasn’t difficult at all.

    1. I opened up Cricut Design Space on my computer and started a new project. I found a template for wide neck sweaters and then added text. I chose to add “WAKE. MOM. HUSTLE. REPEAT.” but you can customize to anything you want.

    2. I opened the packet of Cricut infused ink and selected the pink sheet and placed it ink facing up on the strong grip mat.

    3. I selected the option “MAKE”.

    4. I checked if the “mirrored” option was on before clicking on MAKE again.

    5. The machine then cut out the design after I clicked on the Cricut button.

    6. I used my weeding tool to take out all of the excess paper, just leaving the words. This was the most challenging and time-consuming part of the process because some of the letters were popping out, but I was careful and stuck them all back.

    7. I added one sheet of the bu

    8. I used a lint remover to get rid of any access lint on my sweatshirt so it wouldn’t ruin my design.

    9. Next, I heated up my Easypress machine to 385 degrees for 15 seconds; I actually had it on the wrong setting first. When you do this at home, be sure to check the setting for the materials you’re using on the Cricut Heat Guide.

    10. I removed the heat transfer sheet carefully and voila, my beautiful design was revealed.

Honestly, the photos don’t do the vibrant, beautiful color any justice, and I’m glad I decided on the infusible ink for this sweatshirt. This is the perfect sweatshirt for a fun casual daily look. I’m excited to style it with midi skirts, jeans, and leggings.

  • Flattering Midi Dresses You can Dress Up or Down

ps: This dress is back in stock, get it here! (affiliate)

I’ve been obsessed with midi dresses for the last few years! They’re incredibly versatile and more than anything flattering. The length always reminds me of the dresses my grandma wore when I was a kid, she never wore pants, and her style was very feminine, which I loved. When I shop for midi dresses, I always go for styles that I can wear with dressed up or down. I need them to look great with my sneakers and with heels so I can get the most wears out of them. I posted this H&M dress on my Instagram earlier this week, and while I tried my hardest to find it, it seems to be sold out on their website, so I wanted to share a few other similar flattering midi dresses.

First, here is a dress that’s really similar to my H&M dress! It’s absolutely gorgeous and budget-friendly.

Flattering Midi Dresses You can Dress Up or Down

This dress is perfect for almost every location, and I have to admit, I’m on a bit of a tulle kick lately, so I love it. The cliched waist is perfect for those of us with a bit of a tummy; I would advise that you ensure it’s not tight, a relaxed fit would be most flattering and comfortable.

Here are a few more really gorgeous flattering midi dresses that you would feel great about yourself and your body wearing. More importantly they would look great with sneakers, sandals, boots, heels, etc. so you can make them your style. Asos, Free People, Nordstrom and H&M are currently my go-to stores for midi dresses.

I’m a big fan of the bold colors, patterns, slits of these dresses, and I want to have more fun with my choices this year. I think over the last two years, I’ve been really safe with my choices as I navigated through my last pregnancy and finding myself after my last child. I’m sure many of you can relate.

Anyway, let me know which of these flattering midi dresses is your favorite?

  • Chic Comfy Boots for Moms

I have three children between the ages of 9 and 23 months so I know that mom life can be rough but we don’t have to look it. I’m always looking for mom-friendly alternatives to the latest trends especially shoes since I need them to work for my busy lifestyle. Most of us moms literally are running after our kids on a daily basis so I wanted to share three comfy boots we all need this fall to look chic this fall.

    Dr. Martens 1460

I love Dr. Martens 1460 boots so, so much! I bought the W style a few weeks ago for both myself and my toddler and they’ve been my everyday go-to boot so far this fall. I also like the Smooth and the Farrah that my oldest daughter has. They look great with everything– dresses, jeans, skirts, jumpsuits, etc. They’re also very comfortable and they’re great quality so you don’t have to worry about wearing them out quickly. I would recommend going up one size in these boots. That’s what the store manager mentioned when I purchased them, and I agree, they feel great. Instead of wearing them with the black laces that they come with, I swapped them out with while laces for a fresh look.

    Snakeskin boots

    Chic Comfy Boots for moms

Leopard has been replaced by snakeskin and you can find it everywhere this fall. Finding the perfect pair boots really depends on your personal style and lifestyle but the two silhouettes I’m loving in snakeskin are ankle boots and over-the-knee boots. I found the perfect pair at Lulu’s. This is the perfect pair to wear to the office or to go out to catch . up with a friend. It’s very comfy and the heel is perfect for moms who rarely wears heels. I found these other really fun styles.

    White Boots

Okay, so this one might be a little controversial because motherhood and white probably don’t seem like the best idea and there is that old rule about no white after Labor Day. Here’s the thing, white boots can be cleaned very easily if they get soiled just like any color. I’m loving all of the slouchy white boots that came out this fall and I have my eye on this ASOS pair.
