Please introduce yourself.

My name is Lisa. I’m the blogger and vlogger behind Lisa a la mode. I’m also an independent Stylish for Stella & Dot.

How many kids do you have and how old are they?

My son is 17 months old.

What’s the biggest parenting challenge you’ve overcome?

Feeling guilty about working outside of the home. I’m over it. I now relish in the opportunity to step out of mommy mode and be a boss in my own right.

How do you balance your career and motherhood?

My village! My parents are VERY hands on grandparents and my husband takes on a lot of the household duties, as well as the videography for my fashion videos. I really couldn’t balance any of it without my family.

How would you describe your personal style?

Trendy and chic.

Did your personal style change since you became a mother?

Well, for one, I shop at stores besides Forever 21 and H&M! I’m everywhere now. I think my fashion is becoming more real and wearable. I love cute shoes and sexy heels, but they really aren’t a part of my everyday wardrobe. Not the way they used to be.

What would be your advice to moms who are struggling to establish their style and make time to care for themselves?

Find the time. When the kids are asleep pull out whatever you have for makeup and fashion and just play around. Also, YouTube. There are TONs of moms who work who also make YouTube videos for other moms.

Any tips you’ll like to share to new mothers?

Don’t worry so much! New babies were built to withstand new parents. Stop reading every manual on the planet. Go with what feels right and you’ll be golden.

What great style and I’m glad she is able to reflect on her life as a mother and as a “person” more than mom!
