Thank you Happy Family® for sponsoring this post and making eating veggies fun.
Growing up in the Caribbean, we ate lots of veggies. My Grandma, Sylvie grew most of our vegetables in her garden. It wasn’t a big deal, it was a simple and healthy lifestyle that everyone around us lived. Of course, like all picky kids I didn’t always love my veggies. I can remember my Grandma Sylvie coming in from the garden with a pumpkin or a bunch of green bananas and thinking to myself “Not, tonight!” Well, I miss those days, I wish I could raise my kids the same way. I wish I could pick veggies right out the garden like my Grandma did but city life doesn’t allow that.
It’s one of things I’m trading to raising my kids in an amazing place like New York City. I’m far from perfect when it comes to making healthy choices. However, from the minute I found out I was pregnant with my children, I wanted to ensure that I give my kids the healthiest start possible. That’s why I chose to exclusively breastfeed them. When The Princess Fairy started on solids, I would spend my Sunday evenings in the kitchen dancing to reggae music and puréeing organic veggies as she rocked along in her high chair. I didn’t trust anyone to feed my baby girl!
She loves veggies as a result of that start but like all moms I was a little different by the time my second child came around. Don’t get me wrong, his health was just as important and I wasn’t willing to feed him anything but the best but this time I was okay with someone else feeding him. While hanging out in Brooklyn last summer I discovered the Happy Family® truck. I was happy to learn that their food have non-GMO ingredients, no trans-fats, no high fructose corn syrup, no artificial flavors, no synthetic food coloring and all products are sold in packaging made without the use of BPA. Plus, they feature Enlightened Nutrition, adding thoughtful ingredients —like Salba®, the super chia, as well as plant-based DHA and choline for brain growth and eye health—whenever possible.
I took the free samples and skipped along to Target to stock up my cabinets and since then The Super Knight has been drumming to the beat of Happy Family® .
A few weeks ago, the kids were invited to a photoshoot for the launch of Happy Family®’s new Love My Veggies products. Love My Veggies organic pouches contain one full serving of vegetables and provide essential nutrients including Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Iron and Magnesium to help nourish toddlers’ growing bodies.
We were excited to hang out with Happy Family® as it’s a brand that a brand our family loves and trusts.
The new Happy Family®Love My Veggies feature thoughtful organic vegetable and fruit combinations to help parents increase vegetable consumption in their toddler’s diet.
Love My Veggies pouches are available in three great-tasting varieties. The Super Knight’s favorite is banana, beet, squash & blueberry but they are also available in carrot, banana, mango & sweet potato and spinach, apple, sweet potato & kiwi.
You can find Happy Family® at Target, it is one of the 31 innovative wellness brands included in the Made to Matter—Handpicked by Target™ collection, which offers an assortment of great products made with simple, recognizable ingredients. I love that Target is doing this and making these quality products available to families like ours.

Does your Happy Family Love My Veggies?

I have so much to say about this post. Let me start with Happy Family! I love, love, love their brand. Like you, I made most of Z’s food but when I purchased food especially on the go Happy Family was our go to brand. Now that Baby E will be here in a few weeks, I know it will be hard to prep all his food while caring for him and Z who is now 2 (you understand) and I’m to have a brand available to us like Happy Family!
Now as for these photos and your family: Just beautiful. I love all these behind the scenes shots and the kids expressions. Your babies (and you) are naturals! I can see your kids in a Happy Family/Target commercial! Gorgeous. My Happy Family is Happy for your Family!

It’s def harder with the second child and time consuming so it’s great that you already have Happy Family in mind for Baby E. Thank you, they had a blast at the shoot 🙂
This is great! I don’t have kids, but have many friends who do and are looking for healthy options but don’t have time to puree themselves, so I will be sure to pass this information along to them. And all of these pictures made me want to get a nice fresh salad!
Author
It’s very time consuming to puree so this will be helpful for your friends. Thanks for sharing!
That is so cool that your family got to do a photo shoot with them! Your kids look right at home too!
Author
It was cool Stacie! I think their familiarity with the brand made them very comfortable.
That’s really cool! Hopefully the fun of the shoot will be remembered when you try to get them to eat their veggies!
Author
It will be! They are good with their veggies for the most part.
She loves the Happy Yogis. I love these products for all of the great nutrition they get and I don’t have to worry about them being picky eaters.
Author
Exactly Rebecca! It’s a win-win for us moms!
I grew up eating veggies! My mom has the most amazing and delicious veggie recipes!!!
Author
That’s awesome Elizabeth!
My son loves the happy tot plus pouches!
I am personally struggling to eat veggies. I can eat some, but I can’t eat most. I envy your kids for loving the veggies, and they look good on the camera.
Author
Have you tried consuming them in juices or smoothies. Thats easier than eating them 🙂
Seeing your little ones eating their veggies so happily is fantastic! I don’t have kids of my own, but I know I was always absolutely terrible at eating my veggies at dinner time no matter what my mom did.
Author
LOL Roselynn. Us moms have a tough role of making veggies enticing.
We haven’t tried them yet so we don’t have a fave. I would love to win to give you an answer though. 🙂 Love your photos here!!
I haven’t seen these in the store. I have been very lucky that kiddo has tried so many veggi over the years and likes a lot of them. So, that makes us happy. This photo shoot is adorable!
Author
Thank you Chrystal, you can try Target stores. That’s where they are sold.
I love all these photos, makes you want to eat more veggie with kids. I am lucky that my kids also love veggies.

Author
Thanks Yona. My kids like smoothies too 🙂
Thanks for sharing this. I really like giveaways. I need to start eating more healthy. I also think it would be cool to go out back and pick fresh vegetables to eat.
Author
It will be and hopefully one day I can get a little garden in the city to do just that.
I feel like I’m going to be the same way. I’m going to be very strict about what goes in my child’s mouth and McDonalds anything will not be one of those! I love the kiddies photo shoot. They look so cute.
Author
Thank you Melody and it’s true, once you start them early they will love veggies for life.
The photos of the kids are so adorable. Thanks for sharing my kiddos has outgrown the squeeze pouches, they’re 9 and 6 but I would be open to trying the nutrition shake drinks. This photoshoot looks like it was a lot of fun.
Author

That looks like a fun day! My toddler is ALL About these pouches. We always have a bunch on hand!
Author
Yay Krystal! Happy to hear you’re a happy family.
Love how they used the veggies as props. 🙂 Growing up in a tropical country, we eat a lot of veggies everyday too. Missed some of the veggies there actually that I can’t find here in the U.S.
Author
I feel the same way Lynn, I always miss the ones I grew up on and being able to feed them to my kids.
OMG love, love, LOVE these photos! And I love the Happy Family brand! I can’t wait to try out their new products. Luckily, my kids like most veggies, but always looking for ways to incorporate healthy meals/snacks. Thanks so much for sharing!
Author
That’s awesome that they love veggies, you must be doing a good job mom 🙂
Doesn’t have one… yet.
We really need more emphasis on vegetables in the US. I’ve got to say that I’ve allowed myself to rely on convenient junk foods until a couple months ago. I’ve been gradually replacing them with more whole foods, vegetables and fruits… and without added sugars and a ton of preservatives.
Author
That’s awesome Nile and yes that is true. I wish there were more healthy options on the go but I’m hopeful that will change.
These are adorable pics!! Makes me want to jump up and grab a carrot!
Author
LOL Ricci, that’s exactly how I felt
Cheddar carrot snacks are their fave.
Strawberry Puffs!
Apple cimmamon yogurt and oats 80 calories and 2 grams of protien we both love it
Oh my goodness, that looks like so much fun! I love the photoshoot and, surprisingly enough, the look of all of that spinach as a photo prop- it’s adorable! Your children are gorgeous and I’m glad to see another Mama is worrying about diets as much as I do! 🙂
Author
LOL We are all in this together.
It sounds like you had so much fun at this photoshoot! I love the pictures you shared!
Author
Thank you, we did.
My toddler loves the Happy Munchies best.
I imagine that my kids would really enjoy the rice cakes. The pictures came out great and the kids look like they had a blast.
Author
Yes, you can also try them with the nutrition shakes. My kids calls them chocolate milk but it’s way healthier. Thanks hun <3
We’ve never tried this brand, but sure would like to! Anything with blueberry would be sure to be a hit. I bet she’d love the munchies!
Author
I love blueberries too but they must be organic. For some reason they are sweeter.
We like the HappyYoggis. Great for in the car snacking. I love the behind the scenes photos! Looks like a great day!

I never heard of this brand before but I know my girls would love eating it when they were younger. My girls eat raw veggies now but when they were younger they hated it.
