    My older daughter is now nine years old, and it’s been so beautiful to watch her grow. I feel like this is the age where her personality is starting to shape. I listen to her as she makes decisions and watch as her interests evolve. I try my best to let her be her and to guide her into discovering what HER best self is, so I always let her lead. It’s important to me though, that she feels empowered; she’s still questioning why women aren’t in certain fields or even checks me when I use the term he instead of she.     My daughter has been obsessed with American Girl since she was four years old. I have to admit we’ve spoiled her, and she now has a collection of dolls. This year, I wanted to give her a gift that encompasses her love for American Girl, but it is perfect for her interests. She loves the American Girl books, so I knew she would be a fan of the American Girl Smart Girl Guide Kits. The kits are for girls age 8+ and are built around one of the Smart Girl Guide Books.

    There are six different kits; Smart Girl Guide Kits: Worry, Smart Girl Guide Kit: Liking Herself, Smart Girl Guide Kit: Sports and Fitness, Smart Girl Guide Kit: Cooking, Smart Girl Guide Kit: Digital World and Smart Girl Guide Kit: Friendship Troubles.     This is a really great wellness gift for young girls and a great way to start teaching them about self-care. American Girl was nice enough to send us two kits and I selected the Smart Girl Guide Kit: Liking Herself and Smart Girl Guide Kit: Sports and Fitness for my daughter.

    Since she plays basketball and is in the middle of her first tournament, I thought that the Smart Girl Guide Kit: Sports and Fitness would be perfect for her. The book has excellent tips on everything from how to prepare for games, nutrition, stretching, team spirit to how to navigate the stress of game days. Besides the book, the box came with an American Girl water bottle, backpack, inspirational bracelets, and the mini-doll.

    If you’ve been around here for a while, you know that I’m a big fan of affirmations. I say affirmations with my kids every morning and encourage them to do power poses. Louis Hay is known for her amazing affirmations, so I thought her cards, although they’re not specifically for kids, would be perfect.

    REDUCING WASTE IN OUR HOME WITH THE TerraCycle LOOP PROGRAM

    A few months ago my oldest came home from school really upset after her teacher showed her class a video about the impact of plastic waste on the environment. These products are part of our lifestyle and it would be difficult to stop using them. Well, to provide a simple solution the TerraCycle Loop program is a partnership with our favorite brands to provide those products in reusable packaging. We just order a Loop tote with all of the products we need, we will use them, and when we’re finished the packaging is picked up to be prepared for reuse. Simple right?

    Using Febreze ONE through the Loop Program

    I was happy that Loop partnered with P&G in particular because I was able to order products that my family uses on a daily basis including Febreze ONE. As I mentioned last year, I’m a big fan of Febreze ONE to keep my home smelling great because it doesn’t contain any heavy perfumes, dyes, or propellants and it’s very effective at eliminating the odors in the air and on fabrics that come with having three very active children in our home. Making a lifestyle change without having to suffer through the trial and error period of finding products to replace our favorites is a big relief. I was happy to report to my daughter that Febreze is one of the brands that do care and are committed to the environment. Febreze is already a pre-existing part of the TerraCycle recycling program has recycled more than 1 million pieces of Febreze packaging from landfills worldwide.

    Ordering was as easy as selecting Febreze ONE and some of our other favorite products like Gillette Venus, Cascade, Tide purclean and more. When I opened up our Loop tote, I was really impressed with the premium reusable packaging that was easy to store and looked great in our home. Febreze ONE for instance still has the easy-press trigger I’m used to but it can be used with replaceable refill packs. When the products were done, the kids were happy to help us put all the used packaging back into the LOOP tote and flip the shipping label for it to be picked up.

    This program really proved my point to my 8-year-old that there are people who do care about the environment and we can do our part to reduce waste and practice sustainability. It truly starts at home and we will feel the snowball effect as we naturally move those practices beyond our homes into our communities.

    The TerraCycle Loop Program is only an NYC pilot program at the moment limited to a select group of consumers for now so depending on where you live, you may not have access to the Loop platform at this time but if you live elsewhere you can start making changes by using brands like Febreze that’s committed to recycling.

    Stylish Diapers Bags you can Rock With or Without your Baby

    Three kids deep into motherhood, I’ve accepted the fact that 98% of the time I will be using a diaper bag until my youngest is potty trained. At this point though, I’ve been through enough diaper bags to tell you that I’m not using any that are frumpy, clunky, and not stylish. Nope, not doing it! So, I wanted to share a few stylish diaper bags that are perfect for the modern mama, basically not your aunty’s diaper bag from when you were a kid.

    The Jujubee Everyday Tote is currently one of my favorite diaper bags. Firstly, it doesn’t look anything like a diaper bag and is well-designed and functional which is really important to me. Wearing this bag is very comfortable even when it’s full because the straps are reinforced and sit well on my shoulders which is important when you’re holding a baby in the other arm. The classic style works perfectly for my personal style and lifestyle. Honestly, even if your kids are out of diapers or you don’t have children but need a tote with enough compartments to keep your life organized this is the bag. I can find my phone and sunglasses easily, as well as pack everything the kids will need while we’re out and about. The hardware on my Jujubee Everyday Tote is rose gold which is a lovely detail. I absolutely love this bag in grey and plum colors too.

    The Jujubee Everyday Tote is perfect for working moms IMO you can take on babysitter/daycare drop-off without holding an extra bag. This would have been perfect for me when I worked at a corporate job.

    The Jujubee B.F.F. is sleek! It’s an easy and comfortable bag to wear since it can be worn as a backpack and messenger bag . It was thoughtfully designed for, us modern mamas with smart compartments like a mommy pocket to keep keys, phone, etc within reach. Again, just like the Jujubee Everyday Tote, it’s functional, there is enough space to organize my entire life in this bag. It’s also easy to clean and I always feel comfortable wearing it. I have another diaper bag that’s also stylish but so bulky, I love that the B.F.F. is sleek and easy to wear. 

    JuJuBe Be Right Back Backpack

    I’m looking forward to traveling with my family again this year however, I need to simplify my packing. I think the JuJuBe Be Right BackBackpack will be perfect for quick getaways and day trips. I can fit everything easily and it’s such a comfortable and lightweight bag I wouldn’t have to worry about discomfort on my shoulders if I have to wear it for a long time period. If your style is sporty or edgy this bag would be perfect for you.
