This weekend I was fortunate enough to attend the Blogging While Brown Conference here in New York City. Rattles and Heels was born nine months ago and this was my first blogging conference. It was also my first opportunity to meet a few of the bloggers I’ve met online in person. I was literally shaking with excitement when I got my tickets a few weeks back and just couldn’t wait to learn more about blogging and meet other people who share my passion. To say that I had a wonderful experience and was welcomed warmly into the blogging world is an understatement. Everyone was nice and it was invigorating to be in an environment with so many creative and intelligent individuals.
There are tons of topics that are important to our Rattles and Heels community that I am not an expert in, so I am overjoyed to let you know that I met bloggers who I can collaborate with to bring those conversations alive.
I wanted to apologize for missing Fashion Friday so I am making up by sharing my conference style. If you’re part of the Rattles and Heels crew, you already know that my mommy style revolves around skirts so it was only natural for me to rock this pretty floral full skirt to the conference.
When I saw this skirt I immediately thought that it would good addition to my wardrobe because it is such a versatile and timeless piece. It’s a statement piece and good conversation opener which to me was perfect for an event where I didn’t know anyone. Also, it’s a good purchase for moms because it’s not too short so you can bend over and pick up your baby.
Rock this look!
Skirt: Express
Shirt:Express (Old) Similar or Similar
Shoes: Strappy Sandals
If you’re a brave or super fit mom, these skirts look fabulous paired with crop tops or you can wear one this July 4th weekend with sandals and a simple tank top.
Enough about me!
How was your weekend? Tell us what you did?
